About Me
Mike was born in Madison, Wisconsin, and raised by two educators. His mother was his 5th-grade Social Studies teacher, while his father was both his middle school gym teacher and coach in football, basketball, and baseball. The lack of anonymity in both school and sports cultivated in Mike a keen attention to detail—an attribute he continues to carry with him today.
He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he studied film, and shortly after graduating, moved to Los Angeles in pursuit of greater opportunities within the film industry.
A few years later, Mike began working with September Club, an editorial production company co-founded by Barry Poltermann, one of Manny Marquez’s closest friends. This connection led to Mike working as the editor on Manny’s feature film Make Peace Or Die.
Mike’s editing credits include supporting roles on Ethan Hawke’s acclaimed documentary series The Last Movie Stars and the Netflix feature Why Did You Kill Me?, as well as lead editor on the docu-series UFC Fightlore (YouTube) and One Day at Disney (Disney+). Most recently, Mike wrapped up editing and co-writing a feature mockumentary titled Counting In, which is now in the middle of its 2025 festival run.
